A straight type press is a mechanical device commonly used in processes such as metal processing, die forming, and stamping. Its working principle is based on the deformation or forming of materials by directly applying pressure. The basic working principle of a straight type press is as follows:
1. Pressure source
The power of a straight type press is usually driven by an electric motor and transmitted to a hydraulic system or a mechanical system through a reducer or a gear system. It can be driven hydraulically, pneumatically or mechanically, of which hydraulic drive is the most common method.
2. Workbench and mold
The press is equipped with a fixed workbench for placing the workpiece to be processed. There is a movable pressure head or mold above, and there is a set gap or mold between the pressure head and the workbench. The workpiece on the workbench will be pressed, stamped or formed by the mold under the action of the press.
3. Pressure head or pressing head
The pressure head applies pressure downward through a drive device. The movement of the pressure head can be vertical, usually driven by a hydraulic cylinder, so that the pressure is evenly applied to the workpiece. This pressure compresses the workpiece or produces the desired shape through the mold.
4. Working process
Initial position: The pressure head is initially in the highest position, and the workpiece on the workbench is not pressed.
Pressing stage: When the machine starts, the pressure head begins to descend and contact the workpiece. Through hydraulic or mechanical devices, the pressure head applies continuous force until the workpiece undergoes plastic deformation or is fully formed.
Complete forming: Once the workpiece is processed, the pressure head stops descending or rises to the original position, and the formed workpiece on the workbench is removed.
5. Safety and automatic control
Modern straight type press are usually equipped with safety protection devices, such as overload protection, emergency stop devices, etc. In addition, they may also be equipped with automatic control systems to adjust pressure, stroke, etc. through sensors and controllers to ensure the accuracy and safety of operation.
6. Working characteristics
When the straight type press is working, the force acts directly on the workpiece, and the workpiece undergoes plastic flow or deformation through uniform pressure, which is suitable for various precision processing and mold forming.
The key to its working process is to control the size and speed of pressure to ensure that the workpiece reaches the required shape and strength.
Summary: Straight type press mainly provide large torque through hydraulic or mechanical devices to evenly apply pressure to the workpiece to complete tasks such as stamping, die forming or metal processing. Its design makes the pressure stable and reliable, and can effectively produce high-precision workpieces.
